*Spider Charm Loresong [#b6a99128]

(This is the loresong of the glaes spider charm that was given out when Gemstone switched from AOL to web access. Description of the charm follows the loresong.)~

You sing:~

As you sing, you sense a minute vibration somewhere within the glaes spider charm and your mind reaches out toward a path of some type.~

You sing:~

Just why a spider would fancy me I must find rather odd..."~

As your voice rises and falls, you once more see the edges of a faint path.  Looking toward the horizon, you see not sky and trees, but faint glimmers of spidersilk stretching into infinity.~

You sing:~

Just why a spider would fancy me I must find rather odd~
I cringe from all arachnids, and shun the Spider God."~

As you continue to sing, you see the image of some small creature moving out of its dwelling and onto the path, led by a rather large, ferocious-looking spider.~

You sing:~

Just why a spider would fancy me I must find rather odd~
I cringe from all arachnids, and shun the Spider God.~

As you conclude the song, the image of the twisting path gradually fades, replaced by another vision of the small dwelling.  Somehow, the spider and the small creature now stand before the tiny home again.  The spider turns and skitters away, leaving behind only a small object, glistening in the light of three moons.~

The charm is crafted of flawless glaes formed into a circle.  Delicate strands of spidersilk wind around the translucent rim, creating a small but spectacular web within the frame.  At the center of the web is a tiny opaque spider.~

Along the rim, a few words have been engraved...~

"Many paths lead home for those of courage."~

You turn a glaes spider charm over.~

The charm is crafted of flawless translucent glaes, formed into a circle.  A piece of parchment slipped under the rim of the charm is visible beneath the clear crystal back.~

On the parchment, some words have been penned in an elegant, barely-visible~
hand.~

Tiny, exquisitely-formed letters fade into view on the parchment back of your~
glaes spider charm...~

"Follow me," said the spider to the unenlightened sprite,~
"To lands of bold adventure, of darkness and of light.~
Join me in my web," she urged, "We'll be so happy there.~
Your fantasies await you, there in my dreaming lair."~

As you read, the verse fades into invisibility once again... ~
