*The Thingul Diamond by Higuchi Todomo [#a46630ea]
In an interview I had with Speaker, the owner of the Thingul Diamond, I was able to gain some very good insight on one of the most powerful artifacts in the lands.
*The Thingul Diamond [#ze29cdbb]
Speaker shows you the Thingul Diamond, which he is holding in his right hand. This massive pale diamond was once owned by the star-crossed Thingul family, legend has it that any who posses the diamond are destined to one day fall to the curse of the unlife.
*Properties [#q72ef740]
Casts the spells: Spirit Defense, Spirit Barrier 2, Lesser Shroud, Elemental Barrier, Curse.
It not only casts all of these spells, but casts them an unlimited amount of times. Rubbing to have the spell cast upon himself, to switch between spells you turn the diamond. The only drawback (all be it a small one) is that the spell which comes up next is completely random. There is no order in which the spells appear. As for curse, that spell is also self cast, so someone could easily curse themselves….
When the diamond was first found it was considered an awesome and super powerful artifact. Mainly due to the fact that no one in the lands could even cast the spell Elemental Barrier, and to have the spell and be able to have it cast upon your self an unlimited amount of times was well, awesome.
*Known History [#ob25da0b]
An artifact found sometime in the early ice ages during the Thingul mansion quest, the Thingul Diamond was one of the artifacts found. The other one being the Thingul Sword (owned by Enuege I am told). The original owner of this artifact was Sagan, who found it during the Thingul mansion quest. Later it was passed on to Ciston, then to be sold to its current owner Speaker, for the tidy sum of two hundred million coins.
As for historical significance there is none really known. In the words of Speaker, “during the quest the door opened, the went in and found the diamond and sword, then the door closed.” There was no real exploration or any clues found about the Thingul family. So the true meaning of the curse and this powerful artifact seems to be shrouded in mystery.
