7/29/2005 | BUG FIX: MAX MANA |
---|---|
A bug has been fixed that was affecting how max mana was calculated when reallocating stats. Any character that reallocated stats likely did not have the correct amount of mana. This has been fixed. Characters whose max mana is incorrect will have the error corrected the next time they log into the game.
Information on the mana formula can be found at http://www.play.net/gs4/info/magic-guide.asp#mana If you have any questions or concerns regarding your mana please post your question or ASSIST and speak with a GameHost. |

7/26/2005 | HELGRETH ANNOUNCES SIEGERY DESIGN CONTEST |
Word is spreading that tavern-keeper Helgreth has finally gotten tired of fishing and is starting to spruce up his long-shuttered establishment on Shimeraern Var in Ta'Vaalor. During his extended holiday, Helgreth has become smitten with the game of Siegery, first introduced in the City-States by the gnomes of the Dhu Gillywack.
Helgreth has decided to expand the old tavern to include a special Siegery gaming arena and is prepared to commission from the gnomes several sets of Siegery pieces that tavern patrons can rent. CONTEST: Design a full set of siegery pieces suitable for use in Helgreth's Tavern. All names must conform to standard 15/15/15 naming conventions. All names must suggest that these are small toys, not full-sized. A "full set" includes the following six pieces (neither more nor less): three ground troops, two war machines, and one castle. Full details are posted in the Towns\Ta'Vaalor topic on the GS4 Bulletin Board. http://www.play.net/forums/messages.asp?forum=102&category=17&topic=15&message=3788 The player with the best entry will receive a set of the pieces they've designed -- but, unlike the tavern pieces, these will be trainable. Suitable prizes will be awarded for up to three other entries. You may enter as often as you like, but only one prize will be awarded per account. All entries must be received by midnight EDT on August 14, 2005. Email them to me at [email protected]. Please indicate the name of the character who would receive the prize, should you win. |

7/24/2005 | SPIRIT SERVANT IS NOW REFRESHABLE! |
Spirit Servant has been made refreshable as long as the spell is recast prior to any deaths by the caster. Spirit servants linger for a very short amount of time after a dead master is resurrected or departs. Spirit servants during this period are still not refreshable. The cost of refreshing a Spirit Servant is only a reduced five mana. Enjoy. | |
7/24/2005 | SORCERERS LEARN HOW TO REFRESH MINOR DEMONS! |
Minor Summoning is now refreshable with the use of "vakra" runestones available for purchase at many local sorcerer guilds.
Sorcerers will also find that they now have the ability to scribe the vakra rune. The cost of scribing the vakra rune, factoring only the cost of the aish'vrak potion, is 400 silvers. Costs for ink, water, and the raw stones vary and are fixed regardless of the specific rune being scribed so are not included in this calculation, but will obviously raise the cost slightly. The runestones are activated using the RUB command while the Minor Summoning spell is active. |

7/22/2005 | UPCOMING TITLE SYSTEM UPGRADE |
An upgrade of the title system will be released soon. The upgrade will be released into Platinum within the next couple days and, barring any major issues, will be released into Prime shortly thereafter.
The improvements are largely to internal code structure and design, which will allow us to expand and modify the system much more easily in the future. As a result of these changes, there will be some minor modifications made to the TITLE interface. Once the system is released, see TITLE HELP for details on the new syntax. One expansion that comes along with the upgrade is a new set of titles. Masters of Artisan Guild skills will be able to display their accomplishments in the form of postname titles. Thanks go to Cirakin for implementing the new titles. In addition, the new system will see the retirement of the concept of "ancillary" titles, replacing them with "unique" titles. The difference between these is mostly bureaucratic; the largest change to the user is that unique titles will not persist through rerolling as ancillary titles currently do. Characters which currently have access to one or more ancillary titles will have access to the same titles as unique titles under the new system. For comments or questions, please post on the GemStone IV Message Boards in the General Roleplaying category, Titles topic. |

7/13/2005 | MAGIC ITEM BUG FIX |
GM Nilven fixed a bug that was preventing paladin spells in magic items from being recognized properly. Spiritualists were having more difficulty than they should have had in activating paladin spells, which are spiritual sphere spells. Likewise, spiritual spells were more difficult for paladins to activate because they were considered outside their sphere.
This bug fix should also make paladin spells easier to scroll infuse because they were considered part of a sphere foreign to sorcerers previously. The change should have no impact on elementalists (bards and wizards) as the spells were being properly recognized as being outside their sphere. |
