7/23/1999 | ACCOUNT SECURITY ISSUES *IMPORTANT* |
Simutronics employees will *NEVER* ask you for your password. Protect your account from potential sabotage by keeping your password secret!
Simutronics and its employees will *NEVER* send you updates to their software through e-mail. Programs in e-mail claiming to be from Simutronics can contain viruses or password "sniffers". All software supported by Simutronics is available *ONLY* in our download libraries on our web site. Simutronics only uses play.net web site addresses for access to its games. NEVER enter account or password information into any web site claiming faster access to the game that does not have a play.net address. Please report anything suspicious to [email protected] Lets go over that one more time... SIMUTRONICS WILL NEVER DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: 1) Ask you to reply to a "letter from feedback" that is addressed from hotmail.com or any other non-simutronics.com e-mail address. 2) Ask you to use an alternative sign-in page from a URL that is not either PLAY.NET or one of the other official Simutronics supported URL's (gemstone.net for example) 3) Include the phrase "This is not a scam!" in a "letter from feedback" asking you to use an alternative signing page. 4) Misspell their own company name within the header of an e-mail to you. All of the above listed scams have been tried and most of them have succeeded to some degree. Use your common sense when you receive unsolicited e-mail from anyone. We rarely send out unsolicited e-mail, and we would not do so due to an error on our sign-in page. If we have a technical problem, we post it on the website, we do not send e-mail about it. Be stingy and be safe. Don't let these "kewl hakurs" get the better of you. :) |

7/21/1999 | SPIRIT GUIDE MODIFIED! |
A near pass of a comet to Elanthia has resulted in a disruption in the flow of magic throughout the realms. Once sedate flows of magic have become roiled and turbulent and may affect magical transport. Practitioners are advised to be wary of such turbulence in their travels. |
